Peacock Panel Overskirt
Here’s an easy way to make your own wearable art — for under $50 and with minimal sewing required!

ITEMS YOU’LL NEED 1. Take the peacock shawl and cut it straight down the middle, right between the peacocks.

2. Cut the ribbon in half, forming two 1.5 - yard lengths.

3. Take one half of the ribbon and one half of the scarf, and find the middle of each. Pin the ribbon along the cut edge of the scarf. We chose to do a tuck on each end of the scarf to make it an appropriate size for our model and to make the panel flare out a bit.

4. You may either sew the ribbon to the scarf by machine, or you may whipstitch it by hand. If you choose to machine-sew, you may wish to zig-zag the scarf’s hem after cutting it to prevent fraying.

5. Repeat the process to make the other panel.

6. Cut the ends of the ribbon at a 45-degree angle to prevent fraying. Now tie the ribbons in a pretty bow or an ornate knot at each side.

There you have it! An elegant creation that’s also a fun and functional costume component. Use it to add weight and calm the fullness of a circle skirt (our model is wearing our new Double Chiffon Pleated Skirt, ES22). Pair it with a top such as our new Sahara Gypsy Wrap Top, NL07-18T (above) or our Velvet Drop Sleeve Choli AA80, (left.) Or make a bold style statement and wear it over jeans. One of our models already did!
