Premiered in April 1998, Yasmina Ramzy's ground-breaking choreography Descent of Ishtar features 20 dancers of the Arabesque Dance Company. Its concept dates from Yasmina's first intensive study of Ancient Egyptian mysticism 24 years earlier. Her presentation explores the celebrated Dance of the Seven Veils depicting the meaning of each veil through different styles of Middle Eastern dance. Running time: 45 min. Released in 2001.
